DECEMBER 15, 2011 - TUTORIAL ON RANDOM GRAPHS

Joint talk MaCLinC/NeuroMat
speaker: Yoshiharu Kohayakawa (USP)

Thursday, December 15,  at 2pm Yoshi will give us a tutorial on random graphs. This will help us having a commun language to discuss the mathematical modeling of the brain, using stochastic models supported by graphs. Yoshi will make a real effort to make the talk accessible to non-mathematicians. The talk will take place at Numec's multipurposes room.

Title: A fragmented view of random graphs

Abstract: I shall attempt to give an overview of some aspects of the theory of random graphs that might be of relevance to our MaCLinC and NeuroMat projects.  I shall select topics from the papers by Lovász ("Very large graphs") and Bollobás ("Mathematical results on the scale-free random graphs").
